Case study

The problem

Client projects, personal finances, investments and a handful of credit cards, all in one head during the same season. Budgeting apps felt built for accountants, and spreadsheets broke at the third card. The studio needed a money tool it would actually open every day.

What we built

Novac is a personal finance app for iPhone, Android and Apple Watch that keeps everything on the device: no account, no cloud. You log income and expenses by category or by voice, track several cards and their payment dates, put recurring payments on a calendar and watch savings goals fill up.

What it does

Voice entry, plus paste-a-bank-notification parsing for Bancolombia, Nequi, Davivienda and Nu Colombia
Recurring payments on a calendar by day, week, month or year
Multi-card debt tracking with payment reminders and a dedicated debts screen
Savings goals with visual progress, and charts by category and period
Light and dark themes; core features work without internet

Engineering decisions

Offline-first by design: data is stored locally, so there is no server holding anyone's financial history.
Notification parsing is tuned to the message formats of Colombian banks, because that is where the manual typing actually hurt.
Shipped as an MVP and iterated in public. The iOS build is on version 1.0.26, which is what long-term maintenance looks like in practice.
